Dr. Allen Nimetz

Dr. Allen Nimetz

Dr. Allen Nimetz is board-certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular iseases. He completed both his undergraduate and medical degree from Cornell University in New York.

After graduating from medical school, Dr. Nimetz served as an intern in medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Following two years at the National Institutes of Health in Washington, D.C., he completed his training at the Massachusetts General Hospital where he was an assistant resident and cardiology fellow. He also held the title of Fellow in Medicine at Harvard University Medical school.

Academic appointments for Dr. Nimetz have included Georgetown University, George Washington University and Harvard Medical School. He is currently serving as Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Sibley Memorial Hospital, and Chair of the Subsection of Cardiology at Suburban Hospital.

Dr. Nimetz has been practicing cardiology since 1974 and specializes in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is also an active fellow at the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
